Sturgis Bike Ride

Sturgis is one of the biggest motorcycle events in the world. It's an event that every fan of Harley-Davidson motorcycles must experience at least once in their life. But of course this tour contains much more. Fascinating South Dakota, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Badlands, Black Hills, the Rocky Mountains and the amazing Yellowstone National Park.

14 day - 13 night - 1660 miles / 2672 km

Day 1 - Arrive in Denver

As soon as you arrive at the airport in Denver, your tour leaders will meet you and take you to your first hotel where you will be greeted with a welcome drink and some short introductions.

Day 2 - Denver - Scottsbluff - 211 miles / 340 km

Our first day we leave early morning to pick up our motorcycles. After picking up our motorcycles at the rental facility we start our first days ride with a relaxing journey through spacious Nebraska. We spend the night in Scottsbluff.

Day 3 - Scottsbluff - Sturgis - 217 miles / 349 km

Today we ride in the direction of the Black Hills. The number of Harley-Davidson motorcycles is starting to build up – we must be approaching Sturgis!!

Day 4 - Sturgis

For the next 3 days and nights we stay in Sturgis to enjoy the rally. Thousands upon thousands of motorcycles visit the little town of Sturgis. There is so much to see and do, great motorcycles, live music and so many custom built motorcycles to appreciate. The streets are filled with Harley-Davidson motorcycle admirers. Over the next few days, we may also ride out to visit Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and Badlands National Park. There is a lot to see and do in these days at Sturgis. We will possibly be staying at one of the many camp grounds so that we can truly enjoy the environment in its true rally form.

Day 5 - Sturgis

Day 7 - Sturgis - Sheridan - 261 miles / 420 km

Today we leave the Black Hills and ride into Wyoming. Wide open fields, mountains and small rivers are scattered along today’s route. On the way we pass Devils Tower, a solitary basalt monolith measuring 264 meters.

Day 8 - Sheridan - Red Lodge - 177 miles / 285 km

Welcome to Cowboy territory…. Wyoming is one of the states with the lowest population. Today we reach Red Lodge. This is a typical mountain city with its interesting Main Street. It has lots of shops, bars and restaurants to visit.

Day 9 - Red Lodge - West Yellowstone - 155 miles / 249 km

Today is a special day, first we get to ride the famous Bear Tooth Pass and then we visit Yellowstone National Park with its spectacular geysers. Yellowstone is the oldest (1872) national park in the world, once formed by volcanos. The geysers in the park include the most famous one, Old Faithfull. In Yellowstone we encounter the hot springs, deep canyons and enormous meadows filled with deer and buffalo. We spend the night in West Yellowstone.

Day 10 - West Yellowstone - Jackson - 130 miles / 209 km

Today is an early start to embrace the natural beauty of Yellowstone National Park. Before dawn we begin our ride into the park, we imagine ourselves on another planet with the steaming geysers and the unmistakable beat of the buffalo. Our next stop is at “Old Faithful” the best-known geyser. As we exit the park we find ourselves riding through Grand Teton National Park with majestic mountains up to 4000 meters. We find ourselves next in Jackson where we bid a farewell to an incredibly beautiful part of the USA.

Day 11 - Jackson - Rawlins - 290 miles / 467 km

In the morning there is a possibility to have a look around the beautiful city of Jackson with its many shops and its western hospitality, a great place to get a nice souvenir. Afterwards we continue our scenic route through Wyoming to Rawlins where we spend our next night.

Day 12 - Rawlins - Grand Lake - 250 miles / 402 km

Today we get to drive through Rocky Mountain National Park with its amazing views, abundant wildlife and great mountain roads. As we make our way southward through the park we find an amazing mountain town just outside of the park where we will spend our next night. In Grand Lake we have an great western style hotel that really suits this tour and…. another wonderful Jacuzzi with a possibility of a BBQ.

Day 13 - Grand Lake - Denver - 105 miles / 169 km

Our last riding day is still a beautiful one….more mountain passes and great riding roads with amazing twisties. We end our tour back in Denver where we return our bikes and have a great evening to reminisce about our wonderful tour!

Day 14 - Leave for home

After a great tour, the tour leaders will accompany you to the airport and see you on your way!
